Q. What happens if I’m divorced?

A. If either of you were previously divorced, a copy of the decree absolute needs to be produced. Otherwise, it can be obtained from the Family Law Court in the state where the marriage was dissolved (only for divorces after 1975). For divorces before 1975, a copy of the decree absolute can be obtained from the Supreme Court in the state where the marriage was dissolved.

 

Q. Who can I use to witness our marriage?

A. Two people over the age of 18 can be your witnesses.

 

Q. How about if it looks like rain on the day?

A. It is always advisable to have a wet weather option just in case, as the weather is the only thing I can’t control.

 

Q. Is there anything that we need to provide on the day?

A. Yes. You will require a signing table, tablecloth and two chairs. Usually, the venue will provide these free of charge, if you are having your ceremony at the same venue as your reception. Please ensure you confirm this with the venue
